Liverpool-based digital media, technology and entertainment company Starship has announced the development of Playworld Superheroes, its upcoming mobile game, which aims to engage a player’s imagination as they create their own superhero and take it on a series of adventures. The game is aimed at players aged 5+, and will be free from in-app purchases.
“CSI” franchise creator and executive producer Anthony E. Zuiker, in partnership with family-friendly entertainment company Fanlala and nabi tablet creator Fuhu, Inc. have today announced “Mysteryopolis,” an animated video series that combines traditional videos with interactive games in a new genre focused on “gamified narratives.” Mysteryopolis debuts this week, exclusively on Fuhu’s new nabi Pass, a subscription service available on the nabi family of tablets.

Kabam and Marvel Entertainment have announced the release of Marvel Contest of Champions on iOS and Android devices. The fighting game was developed by Kabam’s Vancouver Studio and contains a storyline written by Marvel Comics writer Sam Humphries. In the game, players build and manage a team of heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe, taking them into battle against their enemies in a quest for power.
It’s time to once again celebrate the holidays in The Sims FreePlay, as a Christmas event has launched in EA’s life simulation game. Players can now decorate their homes for Christmas, and will eventually be able to complete new quests alongside Santa Claus as they work to save the holiday. This event comes with plenty of new items to decorate your Sims’ homes, and even dress your Sims (and pets) to match the occasion.
Pixelberry Studios has today announced a new version of its popular high school simulation game High School Story, introducing an SAT-prep feature to players. The new update will tackle the teen stress epidemic by allowing players to easily study word vocabulary within the game. This update follows other cause-specific updates Pixelberry has released, including one focused on cyberbullying and another that highlighted teen eating disorder and body issues.
Earlier this year, Electronic Arts and PopCap announced the development of Peggle Blast, a free-to-play installment in the popular franchise, which challenges players to shoot balls at pegs to remove them from the screen. The company has now announced an official release date for the title, as Peggle Blast will hit iOS and Android devices on December 2.
