Mobile game developer and publisher Animoca Brands has announced the release of Armies of Dragons on iOS and Android devices. The game takes place in a medieval world, which was once controlled by evil dragons. Humans were able to defeat the dragons and restore peace to their land for a time, but dark magic has awakened the dragons, threatening the land once again. In the game, players will need to defend their kingdom via a mix of time-management and tower defense gameplay.


Yodo1 Partners with Redfoo of LMFAO for OMG:TD! Content Update

Beijing-based mobile game company Yodo1 has announced an international partnership for its Greek mythology-themed strategy game OMG:TD!. This partnership sees the company partner with Redfoo from the musical group LMFAO to bring the pop/hip-hop star into the game as a “Party Rock God.”

Austin-based mobile developer Bearch has received $2.1 million in funding for Unseen, its anonymous photo-sharing app for college students on iOS and Android devices. As students are told to keep their Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts “clean,” in case a potential employer were to view those profiles, the app aims to provide students with a safe haven for expressing themselves in a more authentic way.

Lifestyle brand Lacoste has officially announced the release of its free mobile app Lacoste City Tennis on iOS and Android devices. The app offers localized content to tennis fans in the New York City area, helping them find other tennis fans for matches. In addition, the app offers mobile shopping for Lacoste’s gear, as well as a tennis-themed mini-game for passing the time.


Magpi Launches Version 2.0 of Mobile Data Collection Platform

While the data-collection company is widely used by global health and international development companies, this release sees the company turning its focus to commercial markets. Swedish gaming company Amagumo Games has found success with Neybers, its social community for interior design, on iPad. The app gives users the ability to fill and design template rooms from scratch, using a variety of flooring and wall materials, furniture pieces and accessories. The app includes a touch of competition, as users work to create the best rooms possible in the hopes of having their work featured for other designers to view.


Gajatri Studios Launches Yoga Retreat on iOS

Finnish game developer Gajatri Studios has launched its yoga-themed mobile simulation game Yoga Retreat on iOS devices. The game is aimed at what Gajatri Studios calls an “underserved segment” of players: 18 to 55 year-old women who play casual games, enjoy the simulation genre and are also interested in healthy living, yoga and so on.


FreshPlanet Releases BoxPop on iOS

SongPop developer FreshPlanet has released its newest game on iOS: BoxPop. The company’s newest ‘pop’ game is a puzzle title that asks players to pop boxes in L-shaped paths. Inspired by the movement of a knight on a chessboard, each level challenges players to remove every individual square from a shape on the board, one L-shaped jump at a time.
