Website creation platform Jimdo has launched its app on Android, in an effort to support more complete cross-platform website building across both mobile and desktop devices. Using Jimdo on Android, users can sign up and create a website from scratch, editing and rearranging content and site navigation options, all from within the app on smartphones or tablets.


Heyzap Mediation Launches to Bring Transparency to Mobile Advertising

Heyzap Mediation InsightsMobile advertising network Heyzap has announced its mediation service for mobile app developers. The appropriately named Heyzap Mediation gives developers the power to test multiple ad networks against one another to achieve the highest revenue. The service includes access to Heyzap’s Mediation Insights service, which offers visualizations that map the performance of mobile ad networks, and focus on providing transparency “for the entire mobile advertising industry.”


Patrol the Streets in Meter Maid City on iOS

Meter Maid CityAirport Scanner developer Kedlin, in association with Pocket Gems Publishing, has announced the release of Meter Maid City on iOS devices. The game asks players to take on the role of a rookie parking enforcement officer, as they place tickets on vehicles, or even have them towed to the impound lot. The game is about more than simply ticketing illegal parkers, however, as players will need to avoid traffic, enraged citizens and more while on duty.


Rovio’s Retry Flies onto iOS, Android

Rovio has announced the launch of Retry on iOS and Android devices, a game that’s described as being so hard that players will think they’ve stepped into “an 8-bit time machine” to the year 1986. The pixelated, level-based action game sees players flying a tiny plane through side-scrolling courses, with subtlety being king when it comes to controlling the aircraft. Let’s just say the game is called “Retry” for a reason.


SAS: Zombie Assault 4 Launches on iOS, Android

Zombie Assault 4Game developer and publisher Ninja Kiwi has announced the launch of SAS: Zombie Assault 4 on iOS and Android devices. The latest installment in the zombie shooter franchise introduces a new class system, and offers what Ninja Kiwi calls “an unprecedented level” of character customization to players. The game takes players to the distant future, to a planet overrun by a virus outbreak. Players can experience the game through single-player story missions, or join forces with others in the up-to-four-player multiplayer mode.


myVegas Developer PlayStudios Raises $20 Million in Funding

myVegas BlackjackSocial casino game developer PlayStudios has announced it has raised $20 million in Series C financing to further the company’s growth. The round was led by Jafco Ventures, with participation from existing investors. PlayStudios is the company behind the popular casino titles myVegas Slots and myVegas Blackjack [pictured], with the latter launching at the beginning of October 2014.


Zynga Announces Zynga Poker Classic for Mobile

Zynga PokerIn early September 2014, game developer and publisher Zynga released a new and improved version of Zynga Poker on mobile devices. The game was completely redesigned with a modern, “sophisticated” look, better animations and improved sound effects. The app offered a new table design with all new cards and a smarter betting system, all in an effort to better mimic the real-life experience of playing Texas Hold ‘Em with others.

While the company’s intentions were good, player feedback has been mixed. While some users liked the game’s improvements, others preferred the original style of play. In an effort to please as many players as possible, Zynga has announced the upcoming launch of Zynga Poker Classic, the original game, which will return to mobile platforms later this year.


YouAppi Raises $3 Million in Funding for Mobile Customer Acquisition Solution

YouAPPiMobile customer acquisition company YouAppi has announced it has raised $3 million in Series A funding, in a round led by Glilot Capital Partners, 2B-Angels and Flint Capital. The company has also announced its mobile customer acquisition solution, which guarantees higher customer lifetime value and focuses on post-conversion performance, rather than just installs.


Camp Pokemon Launches on iOS

Camp PokemonJust a few weeks after releasing Pokemon TCG Online on iPad, The Pokemon Company has released another new mobile app in the extremely popular universe of these lovable critters: Camp Pokemon. The entertainment app is categorized as being made for ages 6-8, and takes players to an island filled with Pokemon-themed activities.
