Com2uS Announces Record Financial Results for Q2 2014
Mobile games developer and publisher Com2uS has announced its financial results for Q2 2014, seeing $41.5 million USD (43 billion KRW) in sales and $13.5 million USD (14 billion KRW) in net profit. That’s an increase of 104 percent and 1,225 percent, respectively, over Q1 2014. The company attributes its huge quarter to the success of two particular games, Summoners War: Sky Arena [pictured], and Ace Fishing: Wild Catch.
In particular, Summoners War: Sky Arena launched in June and hit the Top 10 for top grossing apps in 34 countries on Google Play and in 30 countries on iOS. The game allows users to collect, train and battle with hundreds of monsters against other real-world players. Older games, including Golf Star and Tiny Farm, also maintained “steady growth” in sales.
“We were able to secure our presence in both major and emerging markets around the world with the global success of Summoners War and Ace Fishing,” said Baek Yong Choi, Com2uS CFO. “With offices in the US, Korea, Japan, and China, we plan to solidify ourselves as the global leader in mobile games by leveraging our user base and know-how with all our titles going forward.”
In addition, the Korean-based company saw its best overseas sales figure to date at $28.1 million USD ($29.1 billion KRW). That’s an increase of 313 percent quarter-over-quarter. Com2uS expects continued success going forward, thanks to the planned launches of 11 titles in the second half of the year.
