Kabam to bring two WeMade titles to Western gamers
Kabam and WeMade Entertainment have announced a distribution partnership which will see Kabam releasing multiple WeMade mobile games in Western territories. While WeMade has its own successful catalog of mobile and online titles, this partnership will give Kabam the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to two WeMade games.
The first is a yet-to-be-named “aerial combat” game offering real-time multiplayer dogfights. Kabam will translate the game into Western languages for release in countries including the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Russia and Brazil. Kabam now holds similar rights to a second WeMade title which has also yet to be named.
“We are happy to collaborate and introduce WeMade’s top quality games through Kabam, a company well known for its successes in the Western market,” said Won Il Sue, executive vice president of WeMade’s Global Business Division. “With WeMade’s top of the line game development skills, and Kabam’s unmatched global service abilities, we plan to continuously expand our presence in the global market.”
WeMade saw its annual revenue increase by 90 percent in 2013, as its own mobile games generated more than $129 million in revenue.
Meanwhile Kabam has announced additional partnerships through its $50 million WorldWide Developer Fund. Through this fund, Kabam helps bring games from Asian developers to Western markets. Its mosts recent partnerships will bring Game Reign Network’s GCLD and Gfan’s Tian Shen Zhuan to Western gamers.
