Yahoo Screen updated with ‘save for later,’ favorite channels features
Yahoo’s Screen app introduced a free outlet for TV and video streaming on iOS devices in September, and now, Yahoo has updated the app with further user customization options, including the ability to follow channels and save videos for later viewing.
When on the channel list, users can tap a “+” button to select the feeds and channels they’d like to follow (or unfollow). Once selected, users can reorder these channels into a custom order so their favorite channels always appear first.
When browsing channels, clips can be saved for later viewing by tapping and holding on a clip to save it to the “My Saves” channel.
Finally, Screen has been updated with content from BuzzFeed Video, The New York Times and College Humor, each with its own channel which can be followed or un-followed like other networks.
“We want Yahoo Screen to be a place where you can customize your experience to your liking while continually discovering new things to watch and share,” Robby Stein, Director of Product Management, said about Yahoo Screen at launch. “We hope to make Yahoo Screen the destination for the world’s best video creators and their awesome content.”
Yahoo previously updated the Screen app with support for live video as well as AirPlay implementation, allowing users to push videos to their TV while continuing to browse content on the app itself.
