Sega announces Go Dance rhythm dance game for iOS
SEGA has announced the development of Go Dance, the company’s upcoming mobile dance game, coming to iPhone and iPad. The dance and rhythm game will challenge players to earn the highest scores possible across the game’s songs, which have yet to be revealed.
Go Dance will take advantage of the FaceTime camera on iPhone and iPad devices, giving the game the ability to determine a player’s score using an “interactive motion-based sensor.” Like console games Just Dance and Dance Central, Go Dance will allow players to dance to music following the choreography of avatars displayed on the screen.
Go Dance is being developed in association with Extreme Reality, which provides “full-body, software-based motion analysis and control to any computing device or operating system via a standard camera.”
“GO DANCE is an innovative and fun way for players to interact with their iPhone or iPad and enjoy playing a dance game anytime and anywhere” said Haruki Satomi, CEO of Sega Networks, via a company release. “We’re excited to push mobile to the limit and to have the opportunity to explore the possibilities of using this new motion-based sensor technology.”
Go Dance is expected to launch on iOS devices this fall. The app will be supported on iOS6 or higher, and will be available with both English and Japanese language support. A price has yet to be revealed.
