ESPN Bracket Bound, Megapolis, The Croods and more on this week’s top free app charts

ESPN’s official app for the upcoming NCAA men’s basketball tournament, ESPN Bracket Bound 2012, shot up the top free iOS apps charts, reaching the No. 1 spot on the top free iPhone apps chart and the No. 4 spot on the top free iPad apps chart. Developer Social Quantum’s recently released city-building game Megapolis debuted in the top 10 on this week’s top iOS apps charts, landing at the No. 2 position for iPhone and No. 10 position for iPad. Broadcast TV network CBS launched its CBS app last week, which allows users to stream full episodes of CBS shows, and it has already claimed the No. 1 spot on the top free iPad apps chart. Angry Birds developer Rovio released its latest game The Croods last week, which is based off DreamWorks Animation upcoming animated feature film, nabbing the No. 3 spot for iPad and the No. 16 spot for iPhone.

The top free Android apps chart showed very little movement since last week.
