Google Maps, You Don’t Know Jack, Bubble Worlds and more on this week’s top free mobile apps charts

After more than 13 weeks since Apple dropped Google Maps in favor of its own proprietary maps app, Google finally released a native Google Maps app for iPhone and iPod Touch. The Google Maps app has already taken the No. 1 spot on the top free iPhone apps chart, proving that iPhone users were indeed clamoring for an alternative to Apple’s maps. The trivia game YOU DON’T KNOW JACK, which launched last week, took the No. 10 spot. The mobile release is integrated with the Facebook version of the game which our sister site Inside Social Games reviewed favorably here.
On iPad, holiday-themed apps like ElfYourself by OfficeMax and Talking Santa for iPad HD performed strongly, coming in at the No. 7 and No. 16 spots, respectively.
As usual, not much changed in the top free Android apps chart, with Instagram gaining over Facebook Messenger to take the No. 3 spot and top 25 newcomer Bubble Worlds taking the No. 22 spot.
