NBA, The Sims, Line and more on this week’s top grossing apps charts
Monster battle game Dark Summoner by developer Ateam broke into the top 25 for the first time in October, taking the No. 15 spot on this week’s top grossing iPhone apps. The start of the NBA regular season tipped off last night, which in turn shot the official NBA app NBA Game Time 2012-13 to No. 17 rank on iPhone. Electronic Arts’ Need for Speed Most Wanted drifted on to the Apple App Store yesterday and has already driven up our chart to the No. 21 position on iPhone. EA developed The Sims FreePlay made a return to the top 25 on the top grossing iPad apps list at the No. 17 spot thanks to an update that added Halloween-themed content.
EA revealed in their earnings report yesterday that The Simpsons: Tapped Out has been a huge success for the company. Since Oct. 4, The: Simpsons: Tapped Out has consistently ranked between the No. 1 and No. 4 spots for the entire month in the top grossing apps category for both iPhone and iPad.
Free calling and messaging app Line received an update on Oct. 25, which vaulted the app into the top 25 at the No. 10 spot on the top grossing Android apps list. Applibot’s Legends of the Cryptids fell at the No. 22 spot thanks to an update yesterday.
