DeNA unveils Transformers Battle card game for iOS, Android
Publisher and Mobage platform operator DeNA announced that it will release Transformers Battle, a card battle game developed by ngmoco for iOS and Android.
In the game, players assemble a team of Transformers characters and battle their friends. By completing mission in both the Autobots and Decepticons campaigns players earn credits and recruit new characters to improve their card collection. The game is scheduled for release in Fall 2012.
As ngmoco told us at the Mobage Media Day event in San Francisco this Tuesday, the game aims to capitalize on the extremely profitable formula of DeNA’s Rage of Bahumut by applying it to an intellectual property that has more appeal in Western markets.
Inside Mobile Apps readers will surely recognize Rage of Bahumut from our previous coverage. The game has been in the top five grossing apps on iTunes for seven weeks, and the No. 1 grossing app on Google Play for 16 straight weeks.
Japanese social games consultant Dr. Serkan Toto speculates that the Android version of Rage of Bahumut is bringing in $43,000 a day (excluding revenues in Japan).
