Amazing Alex, Tiny Wings, Minecraft and more on this week’s top paid iOS apps
Rovio’s Amazing Alex takes the No. 1 spot on the paid iPhone app charts this week, a position it has held since its release a week ago. While the app maintained its popularity on the iPhone, it couldn’t quite dethrone last week’s iPad champion, Disney Mobile’s Where’s My Perry. That game takes No. 1 on the iPad charts while Amazing Alex settles for the No. 4 spot.
The freshly updated Tiny Wings surged up the chart this week, taking the No. 17 spot on the iPhone chart, while the brand-new Tiny Wings HD managed to grab to the No. 2 spot on the iPad charts. The iPhone version costs $0.99 and the iPad version costs $2.99.

Mojang’s Minecraft – Pocket Edition also saw a surge of popularity this week, as a new update pushed it into the No. 13 spot on the iPhone charts and the No. 8 spot on the iPad charts. The game was updated on July 16, giving players the ability to create furnaces, grow trees, and gather gold, diamond and ore.
