CSR Racing, The Amazing Spider-Man, Hipstamatic and more on this week’s top grossing iOS apps

NaturalMotion’s new game CSR Racing is a big hit in its first week of release, taking the No. 1 spot on the top grossing iPhone app chart this week, knocking down last week’s champion Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North, which falls to the No. 3 spot. CSR Racing is free-to-play, and monetizes through in-app purchases. Meanwhile, comiXology’s Comics takes the No. 1 spot on the iPad charts.
Moving further down the charts, Gameloft’s The Amazing Spider-Man takes the No. 11 spot on the top grossing iPhone app chart and the No. 8 spot on the iPad app chart. The game is the latest in a long series of hits for the French company — since its release on June 28, the $6.99 paid app has he game has hit the top five on the top grossing games chart in 72 countries, no doubt helped by the popularity of its source material.
Finally Hipstamatic also has a strong finish this week, moving up 23 spots to land at No. 21 on the top grossing iPhone app chart. The paid camera app is currently on sale for $0.99 and was just updated on July 3 with a new free lens, a new free film, a new portrait SnapPak, and the ability to add place tags to photos and more detailed Facebook Timeline sharing options.
