Emerging paid iOS apps: iTranslate Voice, Hambo and Bejeweled HD
Austrian developer Sonico Mobile and its utility iTranslate Voice again take the No. 1 spot on the top paid iPhone app charts this week, no doubt helped along by the app’s continuing $0.99 sale price. Although there were few new apps on the paid iPhone charts, independent developer Robert Szeleney makes a return appearance in our roundup with his new game Wingsuit Stickman, which debuts at No. 13 on our paid app charts.
Miniclip’s Hambo also finds some new growth. Last seen on the paid app charts shortly after its release in April, the game’s popularity is once again on the rise, allowing it to rise seven spots to finish at No. 18. The game has also been a hit on Android, where last week it took the No. 26 spot on the free Android app chart.
This week’s top paid iPad app is EA PopCap’s brand new Bejeweled HD. The $3.99 game has been the No. 1 paid app since its release on May 17. Overall, Bejeweled Blitz has been an enormous hit for EA. During the company’s fourth quarter earnings call, EA revealed the match-3 puzzler is its highest earning mobile app.
