Android Reaches 100 Million Device Activations, Sees 400K Per Day

Google said today that Android has had more than 100 million device activations and is now seeing more than 400,000 device activations per day.

The Android Market also has more than 200,000 applications available, product management director Hugo Barra announced today at Google’s developer conference in San Francisco.

There have been more than 4.5 billion application installs up now, which is 1.5 billion more than the company announced in its earnings call on April 14. This suggests just under 60 million app installs per day.

The company also said the entire ecosystem involves 36 original equipment manufacturers, 215 carriers and 450,000 developers.
